DevOps / Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

THE ROLE

Build and operate an internal developer platform that lets product engineers deploy without filing tickets. Treat infrastructure as a product serving internal customers. Combine hands-on rollout troubleshooting with Go or Python tooling that helps prevent recurring problems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Operate and improve production EKS clusters, including upgrades, node lifecycle, Karpenter autoscaling, and network policy.
• Build and maintain GitHub Actions and Argo CD pipelines. Standardize canary deployments and automated rollback.
• Develop self-service tooling and templates, including Helm charts, Backstage plugins, and Terraform modules, for product teams.
• Own Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and OpenTelemetry collectors. Define standard dashboards and alerts.
• Improve platform reliability and cost efficiency. Track and report SLOs and spend per team.
• Write documentation and run office hours for product engineers adopting platform tooling.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required

• 3–5 years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container fundamentals.
• Strong Terraform infrastructure-as-code skills and experience with GitOps workflows using Argo CD or Flux.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for tooling, plus solid Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with modern observability stacks, such as Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent.
• Located in and authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Amazon EKS experience.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Experience with Backstage or another internal developer portal.
• Familiarity with service mesh tools such as Istio or Linkerd and CI security scanning tools such as Trivy or Snyk.
• Experience supporting multi-tenant SaaS architectures.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base range: $130,000 – $160,000 base per year

Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and location.

HOW WE WORK

• Join a nine-person Platform Engineering team supporting 20 product teams.
• Report to the Platform Engineering Manager.
• Participate in a one-week-in-five platform on-call rotation with defined escalation and comp time.
